I really like Dr. Ma. We moved from the area to the Carolinas and I have been trying to find someone similar. I do not understand some of these reviews. For instance, I thought I needed to go back after 3 years and she could have taken me, but she said, it was only recommended for me to come back in 5 years with my situation. It is almost worth traveling to Virginia to see her again but I will have to see if I can make due in my new home town. Dr. Ma is wonderful.

Dr. Ma was the consummate professional and went the extra mile to ensure that I received the treatment that I needed. I was in extreme pain and her intimate knowledge of my condition and me as a patient, helped her understand that the pain was real and that I needed immediate treatment. She responded quickly, I received the treatment, and was better in no time. She always treats me with respect and kindness. I would rate her manner, knowledge and professionalism within the top ten percent of the doctors I have seen in this area.

I met with Doctor Ma earlier today and was very pleased with our interaction. She was very thorough in listening to my symptoms, and spent an extended period of time going through a treatment plan. I found her to be very personable, and with a "straight to the point" approach to evaluating a diagnosis.

Unprofessional, not nice, money hungry doctor. Scheduled me for a procedure without explaining plan and that it would cost me. Procedure was scheduled in December and due to me changed insurance companies, it filed it as if I didn't have insurance at all. Now I have a collection agency calling me requesting a mortgage payment for a procedure that took her less than 10 mins - greedy. Would never go there again or refer anyone to go to her. Disgusting!

I've seen Dr. Ma on several occasions in the past few years and really like her. She's got a good grasp of my issues, and always treats me with respect. Her staff is also kind--and efficient. Highly recommend.

Be prepared for her to mislead you into choosing an expensive, invasive procedure without listening, without explaining and most egregiously WITHOUT conducting a visual exam.

Dr. Ma is very quick to jump to conclusions, she does not listen and is condescending. For whatever reason, she felt it was appropriate to belittle my profession as boring. But the most disturbing aspect of the entire experience was her dismissive demeanor and failure to perform basic medical duties.

Wow! Really liked her. Very personable. We joked, laughed, talked a little politics and medical research. Very impressed. Just waiting for the procedure. Glad I came here and did not listen to the negative reviews! Diagnosed with Crohns in 1984, so have Plenty of experience with Gastros over the years. First impression, she's just as good as the best of them!

Let me just start by saying that if I could give her 0 stars, I would.
I went for my appointment early in the the morning, on time. As usual, i brought my insurance on my email because who even carries physical copies anymore? Also, I’ve never in my entire 21 years of existence have needed a physical copy. BUT, they insisted they won’t see me without the physical copy. They said I could print it out and reschedule but im LEAVING THE STATE TOMORROW so WHEN? They wouldn’t even print it out for me even though they have a printer. Also, I was there before appointment time and Kinkos is 5 mins away, but they wouldn’t see me today even if I went and printed it out. I have been in extreme pain and discomfort for a LONG time and am flying out of the country for 10 months after this. The fact that this doctor is SO inconsiderate as to not see a patient in pain is disgusting to me. Honestly, I’d rather be stuck with pain then be treated by such a horrible human being. Hope she enjoys her horrible reviews. INOVA should reconsider keeping her in their hospital unless these are the values they stand for.
