I had the most-traumatic experience at HRC with Dr. Fredrick. I should have picked up on the warning signs at my first appointment (they made me wait 2 hours to see the doctor and she tried up-selling me on supplements) but I was so excited to get started with IVF I just looked the other away.

During my IVF journey, I met with the Dr. Fredrick a total of four times, which is crazy to me, and she was an hour+ late to every meeting, even surgeries; I felt as if I was just another cog-in-the-wheel to her money-making machine and she could care less about how my treatment turned out.

When I was given my protocol, it was very standard and not customized to my body; the surgery for my egg retrieval was scheduled before I even started my stims. Aside from the horrible experience thus far, the most traumatic part, which I will never be able to erase out of my memory, was how she handled delivering the news that my blastocyst embryos were each missing a chromosome.

First, I want to note that I know IVF cycles fail (so no, that is not why my review is negative) and I am fine with that, it is part of the process, but Drs should have some class when delivering sensitive news. Instead of calling me and letting me know that my embryos were not going to be implanted, Dr. Fredrick and her team had me come down to the surgery center (making me think I was getting my embryos implanted), wait an hour, and then walk me back to a room to deliver the unfortunate news. As if that was not painful enough, it felt as if she was trying to rush our meeting (perhaps she was hungry for lunch) and I was a nuisance to her at that moment. I understand that this is a job for her, but I expect a level of professionalism because this was the world to me. She then informed me of the sex of the embryos, and every Dr knows when delivering bad news, you only tell patients as much as they ask...and I didn't ask.

Dr. Fredrick is a nice lady, but I would not recommend her based on the experience I had, it truly traumatized me. However, I was lucky enough to find another fertility center for my second round of IVF, they customized the protocol to my body and provided an exceptional customer experience...and I got to see the doctor at every appoint.

Do you research, and if a doctor doesn’t feel right, then move on. That is what I should have done after my first appointment Dr. Fredrick!

My first visit with Dr. Frederick she told me she was going to make my first Surrogacy journey a success. She really did do that. Great doctor who knows what she is doing. Professional and personal. Thank you Dr. Frederick.

Be careful, most of her work was not covered by our insurance. Even though she is listed as in-network, we discovered that very few of the procedures are in-network, and that most of the work is out-of-network. I called my insurance to complain, and their response was that a provider is considered in-network even if only one of their procedures is in-network.

Dr. Frederick failed with egg extraction. Another fertility doctor was successful less than a year later.
